The material

TPU A70: the rubber band among printing materials.

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) behaves like technical rubber: it can be bent, compressed and stretched – and then returns to its original shape. A Shore hardness of A70 roughly corresponds to a car tire tread: flexible, but with structure and grip.

  • Shore hardness approx. A70 – rubber-elastic with high resilience
  • Abrasion-resistant and durable – even under repeated deformation
  • Uniform material properties in all directions (SLS powder bed)
  • Fine, slightly rough sintered surface – good grip and a high-quality feel

The technology

Design freedom without support structures

In selective laser sintering, the part is built in the powder bed – with no support structures at all. Undercuts, hollow bodies and lattice structures come out of the machine clean.

  • No support structures – full design freedom, including internal features
  • Thin-walled bellows and lattice dampers can be printed
  • Reproducible quality – from prototype to series production

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about SLS TPU A70

Shore A70 is in the range of car tire rubber or a firm shoe sole: clearly bendable and compressible, but with structure and restoring force. Thin-walled geometries behave more softly, solid areas more firmly – the wall thickness lets you adjust the perceived flexibility in a targeted way.

In the SLS powder bed, the part is built without support structures and with uniform properties in all directions. This makes it possible to print undercuts, hollow bodies, bellows and lattice structures that would fail in FDM because of supports or layer adhesion. For simple flexible parts, we also offer TPU printed with FDM.

The price depends on volume, geometry and quantity – with volume discounts for series production. The fastest way is our online portal: upload your CAD file, choose the material, get an instant quote – with no waiting and no obligation.

Yes – the powder bed makes it possible to nest many parts in a single build job. As a result, the unit price drops significantly with quantity, with no tooling or mold costs at all. Typical production runs range from 10 to several hundred parts.
